Leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Ifo Local Government, Ogun State, have paid a courtesy visit to a former chairman of the party, Chief Joju Fadairo, in recognition of his contributions to the growth, stability and electoral successes of the party over the years.
The visit, according to a statement made available on Tuesday, followed Fadairo’s recent announcement of his retirement from partisan politics.
The delegation was led by the Chairman of the APC in Ifo Local Government, Barr. Olumide Oduwole. It also included a former Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, the APC candidate for Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency, Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye, the Chairman of Ifo Local Government, Hon. Idris Olalekan Kushimo, alongside other party leaders and stakeholders.
Speaking during the visit, Oduwole described Fadairo as a leader whose wisdom, dedication and exemplary leadership strengthened the party’s internal cohesion and contributed significantly to its electoral successes.
He said, “Chief Fadairo’s calm disposition, wealth of experience and commitment to the ideals of the APC remain outstanding and will always be remembered.”
Responding, Fadairo expressed appreciation to the delegation for the honour and show of affection, saying he remained grateful for the opportunity to serve the party and for the relationships he built throughout his political journey.
While reaffirming his decision to retire from partisan politics, the former APC chairman urged party members to remain united and committed to the progressive ideals of the party.
“I remain grateful for the opportunity to have served the party and cherish the relationships built throughout my political journey.
