Senator Sunday Karimi, representing Kogi West, has condemned the recent attacks and kidnappings of schoolchildren in Niger State, describing them as actions by mischief makers aiming to tarnish President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Speaking on Thursday, Karimi urged Nigerians to maintain confidence in the government, stressing President Tinubu’s commitment to protecting lives and properties across the country.
He also called on state governments to establish Community Security Agencies as a first line of defense to complement national security efforts.
The Senator emphasised the role of citizens in safeguarding their communities, urging residents to cooperate with security agencies by sharing information about suspicious activities.
“These attacks on schools and schoolchildren are part of a broader insecurity pattern in Nigeria. However, their plans to destabilize the government will fail,” he said.
Karimi cited the recent kidnappings in Niger State as deliberate attempts by individuals seeking to discredit the Tinubu administration, urging all Nigerians to remain vigilant and united in the fight against insecurity.
