The National Population Commission (NPC) has raised alarm over a fraudulent website, https://npc-career.allprogram.site/job, falsely claiming to be recruiting Ad-hoc staff for the upcoming 2025 Population and Housing Census.

The commission clarified that it is not currently conducting any recruitment and warned Nigerians to beware of falling victim to scammers.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Director of Public Affairs, Erelu Taibat Yemi Oloruntoba, stressed that recruitment for the census has not commenced.

She reaffirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed that a committee be established to align the census budget with the government’s financial realities before issuing a proclamation for the biometric Population and Housing Census.

“The public should note that when the recruitment of Ad-hoc staff becomes necessary, it will be officially announced through national media outlets, as well as the NPC’s verified social media platforms and website,” Oloruntoba stated.

The commission urged Nigerians to disregard the fake website and avoid providing any personal information to the fraudulent platform. It also revealed that an investigation is underway to identify those behind the scam.

“We encourage everyone to seek accurate information regarding the NPC’s activities from our official social media handles and website”.

“The Commission remains committed to keeping the public informed about all developments concerning Nigeria’s first biometric census,” the statement added.
