The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the kidnapping of a nursing mother and her child along the Supare/Ajegunle axis in Akoko South West Local Government Area.
Police spokesperson Abayomi Jimoh told the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Akure that the incident occurred on Saturday, January 3.
“Yes, I can confirm that a nursing mother and her child were kidnapped by unknown gunmen at Supare/Ajegunle Akoko axis. Efforts are already ongoing, and the command has deployed security personnel to rescue the victims alive and unharmed,” he said.
Investigations revealed that the mother, wife of a popular furniture maker, and her child were abducted from their residence during the night.
The police reiterated their commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
