Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has commended the Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Bolanle Lateefat Ajayi, for facilitating projects that align with the needs of her constituents in Yewa South.

The Governor, represented by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Elemide Oludaisi, gave the commendation during the commissioning of a unit of 20 open stalls at Eredo Market along Ilaro–Owode Road, another set of 20 stalls at Sayedero Market in Ilaro Town, and a block of two classrooms with an office, store, and furniture at the First African Church Mission School, Ipaja-Idogo. Also commissioned were more than 100 solar streetlights spread across Yewa South Constituency.

Elemide, who led other lawmakers to the ceremony, praised the initiative, noting that the State Government’s decision to allow legislators to facilitate constituency projects was in line with the ISEYA Agenda and had given grassroots communities a fair share of development. He further urged residents, especially market women, to maintain the projects so they can serve the people effectively.

Speaking on behalf of political leaders, Chief (Mrs.) Iyabode Apampa lauded the Governor for approving the constituency projects and applauded Hon. Ajayi for her quality representation, describing her as a pride to women in politics.

She noted that the revival of the over 70-year-old market, which had almost gone extinct due to its dilapidated structures, was a remarkable achievement.

In her remarks, Hon. Ajayi said the construction of the new market stalls was aimed at preserving the legacy of the founding fathers and boosting the socio-economic activities of the area.

She explained that the new classroom block at Ipaja-Idogo replaced a dilapidated structure, thereby providing a more conducive learning environment for pupils and teachers.

The Deputy Speaker expressed appreciation to Governor Abiodun for granting lawmakers the opportunity to facilitate constituency projects, which she described as unprecedented in the state’s history.

She emphasized that the 2025 Constituency Project approval had reinforced lawmakers’ role as true representatives of their people, assuring her constituents of more people-oriented projects in the future.

The commissioning team later paid a courtesy visit to the Olu and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle. Hon. Ajayi also appreciated her constituents for their steadfast support, noting that their encouragement had motivated her to deliver on her mandate.

In separate remarks, the Chairman of Yewa South Local Government, Barr. Abraham Ogunsola, the Iyaloja of Eredo, Chief Adijat Abolade, a community leader, Alhaji Tailat Sanusi, and the Headteacher of First African Church Mission School, Mr. Akinola Jelili Akinbami, all praised the Deputy Speaker for her efforts. They described the projects as a true reflection of the people’s needs.
