The Ogun State House of Assembly has commended the State Signage and Advertising Agency for recording an impressive ₦269 million in revenue within the first half of 2025, representing 99.15% of its projected target of ₦271 million.

The lawmakers, under the House Committee on Information, Culture and Tourism led by Hon. Olusegun Odunuga Kaka, gave the commendation during the ongoing mid-year budget performance review held at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Commending the agency’s performance, Hon. Babatunde Tella praised the General Manager, Mr. Fola Onifade, for what he described as a commendable and strategic approach to revenue generation.

He noted that such efforts would go a long way in supporting the State’s internally generated revenue and advancing development.

In a related appraisal, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, headed by Commissioner Chief Sesan Fagbayi, also received praise from the lawmakers for its initiatives to promote indigenous culture and heritage.

The Ministry was particularly commended for its efforts in promoting the popular Adire fabric and cultural tourism.

The Committee, however, called for the rehabilitation of the road leading to the Bilikisu Sugbon Shrine in Oke-Eri, noting that improved access would attract more tourists and support the local economy.

Chief Fagbayi, while addressing the lawmakers, thanked the Assembly for its support towards the recently reopened Olumo Rock Tourist Site, which he said was part of the Prince Dapo Abiodun administration’s effort to enhance tourism infrastructure in the state.

He also appealed for more legislative backing and regular visits to tourism sites to further strengthen cultural awareness and revenue generation.
