Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on Wednesday led a team of government officials to inspect the ongoing renovation works at the Olumo Rock tourist site, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to cultural preservation and economic growth through tourism.

The governor, who was accompanied by the Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Oyedele-Salako, and other top government officials, said the facelift of the historic landmark is part of broader efforts to transform it into a world-class tourist destination.

During the visit, Abiodun stated that his government remains dedicated to ensuring the project meets specified standards and reflects the heritage and beauty of Ogun State.

“As a government committed to promoting tourism and preserving our cultural heritage, we remain focused on transforming Olumo Rock into a world-class destination that reflects the beauty and history of our beloved Ogun State,” the governor said.

He noted that the purpose of the inspection was to assess the pace and quality of the ongoing work and to reinforce expectations with the contractors on site.

“I was accompanied on this inspection by some of our top government officials, and together, we reviewed the quality of work being done and reinforced our expectations with the contractors,” he added.

Governor Abiodun expressed optimism about the project’s impact, saying, “We are confident that upon completion, Olumo Rock will not only attract more visitors but also create new opportunities for local economic development, job creation, and community pride.”

He further emphasized that his vision for a “vibrant, modern, and culturally rich Ogun State remains on course,” as tourism continues to take center stage in the administration’s development strategy.
