OPay has reassured its customers after a brief service disruption affected access to its platforms, confirming that normal operations have been fully restored.

The company explained that the interruption was caused by an external maintenance upgrade impacting broader service systems, and was not due to any internal fault. Services were quickly stabilized, and users can now continue transactions without interruption.

“We have restored full stability as soon as the external issue was resolved,” OPay said in a statement to its customers. “Thank you for your understanding.”

The fintech also emphasized its status as a licensed Mobile Money Operator (MMO) by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), with deposits insured by the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC). This, the company said, ensures that all customer funds remain secure despite the brief disruption.

OPay urged users to rely on official communications from its channels for accurate information, reassuring millions of Nigerians who depend on the platform for daily financial transactions that the system remains safe, regulated, and fully operational.
