In a video shared by Delta State Police, a 13-year-old girl has bravely spoken out about years of sexual abuse by her stepfather, revealing how the repeated assaults led to pregnancy, after which the perpetrator researched and bought abortion pills online to terminate it.
In the heartbreaking video interview shared by Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, the victim detailed the ongoing molestation that began when she was much younger as of 11 years old.
Edafe, while parading the suspect, expressed outrage at the heinous act, saying:
“This man has been defiling his stepdaughter for years… he got her pregnant and went online, Googled abortion pills, bought them and gave her to abort the pregnancy. How can a man do this to a child?”
The police spokesman urged parents to be vigilant and encouraged victims of sexual abuse to speak out, assuring that the command treats such cases with utmost seriousness.
According to the police, the suspect has been arrested following the girl’s report, and investigations are ongoing.
The suspect is expected to be charged with rape, defilement, and related offenses as the case proceeds to court.
