The Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Damagum, has expressed confidence that those who left the party will soon return, insisting that no political platform is as accommodating as the PDP.

Damagum made the remarks while addressing the media on Wednesday, flanked by other party leaders, including the reinstated National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Deputy National Chairman (South), Taofeek Arapaja, and members of the National Working Committee (NWC).

“To those that are contemplating, they should know that they have no place and there is nowhere that will be as accommodating as our party. But if they feel otherwise, I would wish them good luck. But I know they will run back,” Damagum declared.

The PDP leader said the party has resolved its internal differences, adding that the NWC remains united in its determination to reposition the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“We have sat down to discuss all thorny issues and trash them out today. We have agreed that the NEC meeting scheduled for 23rd, 24th and 25th will still hold. To our members, I bring good tidings, your party is intact,” he stated.

Damagum also took a swipe at the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), accusing them of using harassment and inducements to destabilize the PDP, while urging Nigerians to hold the APC accountable for worsening insecurity, hunger, and hardship in the country.

“To APC, you can continue to harass, and buy our members. But the 2027 election is between Nigerians and APC,” he warned.

He described the PDP as the only party that has lasted this long, noting that its strength lies in its ability to resolve internal disputes without external interference.

“We have mastered the art of conflict resolution. We know our problems, and we solve them within ourselves,” Damagum stated.

The party chairman also cautioned members against actions capable of bringing disrepute to the PDP, vowing that the party would take decisive measures against those working against its interest.

“If you believe in this party, you should be an ambassador that protects the fortunes this party has given to citizens of this country when it was in power,” he concluded.
