Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has assured residents of the state that his administration will not abandon any part of the state in its development agenda.

The governor gave the assurance while speaking on the ongoing infrastructural projects in the Ifo, Sango Ota, and Idiroko areas, noting that his government is currently working simultaneously on four major highways in the axis.

According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Kayode Akinmade, the Abiodun-led administration is executing major road projects across the three senatorial districts to ensure even development.

He said contrary to claims that some bad portions of roads were neglected, the government had already captured the Ota-Lafenwa-Ayetoro Road in the proposed 2026 Budget.

Akinmade disclosed that the 140-kilometre Abeokuta-Lagos Expressway, though a federal road, is being rehabilitated by the state government.

He added that the Sango-Idiroko road, also under federal ownership, is under active construction, while about 22 kilometres of the Ijoko, Agbado, and Alagbole road network had been completed.

“The area being mostly complained about, the Ota-Itele-Lafenwa stretch, which is about 24 kilometres, had been incorporated into the 2026 budget long before the social media hoopla,” Akinmade stated.

He added that the decision reflects Governor Abiodun’s commitment to spreading development across all nooks and crannies of the state, as resources and time permit.

The Special Adviser listed several completed projects in the Ifo-Ado Odo-Ota axis, including Ikorita Meta, Adenrele/Olose Titus Vespa Road (3.1km), Old Bank Road-Orita Meta-Coker Junction (1km), Olusegun Osoba-Toyin-Agbado Road (2.4km), and Atan-Lusada-Marogbo Toll Road (19.2km), among others.

He described the opposition’s criticism as an attempt to discredit the government despite visible progress across the state.

Akinmade maintained that Governor Abiodun inherited years of infrastructure deficit in the Sango-Ota axis but has since embarked on massive road reconstruction in Sango-Ijoko-Agbado-Oke Aro-Lambe-Akute Road, Sango Ota-Papalanto-Abeokuta Road, and Sango-Idiroko Road, all of which have reached about 50 percent completion.

He expressed optimism that once the rains subside, work would advance at a faster pace.

He called on residents to remain patient and hopeful, assuring that the ongoing road projects would soon ease transportation and open up the state for greater economic growth.
