Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has unveiled the newly remodeled Executive Council Chambers at the Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, describing it as a space designed to enhance strategic governance and decision-making.
Speaking during the commissioning, Governor Abiodun said the decision to remodel the existing office rather than construct a new one was deliberate.
He recalled the previous state of the chambers as “an embarrassment” and expressed confidence that the upgraded facility would signal the administration’s seriousness to investors and stakeholders.
“This office was in total decay and an embarrassment. We chose not to build another Governor’s Office but to remodel the existing one. Investors will not be in doubt of our seriousness when they see new things in the State,” the governor said.
The revamped chambers now feature modern facilities, including a state-of-the-art public address system, individual monitors displaying meeting agendas, three large television screens for live discussions, modern executive chairs, and enhanced lighting to create the right ambience for critical state business.
Governor Abiodun noted that this project forms part of the broader regeneration agenda of his administration, which includes the facelift of key landmarks such as the Ibara Government Reservation Area (GRA).
He stressed that the initiative aligns with the state’s Urban Renewal Programme and the vision to deliver good governance while creating an enabling environment for sustainable development.
Highlighting his administration’s achievements across infrastructure, security, health, education, and housing—the pillars of the ISEYA mantra—Abiodun said the new chambers would serve as a conducive environment for strategic thinking benefiting the people of Ogun State.
The governor also commended members of the State Executive Council for their dedication, emphasizing that their contributions were instrumental to the progress recorded.
He paid tribute to former Governor, Chief Olusegun Osoba, describing him as an astute administrator and a founding father whose experience continues to guide the administration.
In his remarks, Chief Osoba lauded the ongoing transformation under Governor Abiodun, particularly the redevelopment of the Ibara GRA, calling it a pride of Egbaland.
He also praised the new Executive Council Chambers, describing it as world-class and comparable to any globally.
The unveiling adds to a string of urban renewal achievements by the Abiodun administration, following the remodeling of the MKO Abiola Stadium into an international-standard sports arena and the revamp of the Cultural Centre.
Governor Abiodun reaffirmed his commitment to rebranding Ogun State through continued urban renewal initiatives aimed at creating a modern, forward-looking state.
