A Nigerian content creator, Becca Oluwabukola, has revealed how her passion for creating TikTok videos led to the end of her banking career after her employer accused her of violating the institution’s social media and confidentiality policies.

Becca, who is known for sharing lifestyle and workplace related content on TikTok, disclosed in a recent video that she was directed to resign after posting footage recorded within the bank’s premises.

Although she did not identify the financial institution, she explained that the incident followed a series of warnings over her online activities.

According to her, she began creating content in 2018 and started filming at the office in 2022 because she lacked a suitable recording space at home.

She said her first encounter with management came after posting a video using a trending sound about poor salary increments, a post she insisted was not intended to ridicule her employer.

The video attracted the attention of the bank’s head office, resulting in a formal query and temporary suspension. She was later reinstated and confirmed as a permanent staff member.

However, matters escalated this year after she uploaded another vlog filmed inside the office.

Although she deleted the video after being summoned, the bank later issued another query, accusing her of exposing sensitive areas within the workplace.

Becca said she appeared before a disciplinary panel and apologised for the incident, but was subsequently informed by her supervisor that management had directed her to resign with immediate effect.
