The Ogun State Government has intensified work on the ongoing road construction project in Ogbeere, Ijebu East Local Government Area, with contractors commencing asphalt paving operations on critical sections of the corridor.
The development was contained in a project update released by the state government on Wednesday, highlighting the progress recorded under the infrastructure development programme of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration.
According to the update, contractors are currently spreading and compacting stone base materials near the Ijebu East Local Government Headquarters as part of preparations for the next phase of construction.
The government stated that the spraying of MC-1 prime coat was also ongoing along Chainage 4+000, opposite the General Hospital, Ogbeere, to provide a suitable bonding surface for the asphaltic concrete course.
It added that the laying and compaction of the asphaltic concrete course had commenced opposite the General Hospital, describing the development as another significant milestone in the execution of the project.
“The spraying of MC-1 prime coat is ongoing along Chainage 4+000, opposite the General Hospital, Ogbeere, to provide a suitable bonding surface for the Asphaltic Concrete Course,” the statement read.
It further noted that, “the laying and compaction of the Asphaltic Concrete Course opposite the General Hospital, Ogbeere, is currently in progress, marking another significant milestone in the delivery of the project.”
The government explained that the intervention forms part of efforts by the Abiodun administration to improve road infrastructure, boost connectivity, facilitate economic activities and enhance the quality of life of residents across the state.
It assured residents that work was continuing steadily, with contractors maintaining momentum towards the successful completion of the project. :::
