In a move aimed at providing financial relief to Nigerians ahead of the Ramadan season, Dangote Refinery has announced a reduction in its ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, from N890 to N825 per litre.
The management of the refinery confirmed the price adjustment on Wednesday, emphasizing that the decision aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s economic recovery policies and is intended to ease the cost burden on consumers.
“This price review is part of our commitment to making fuel more affordable for Nigerians, particularly as we approach the Ramadan period,” a refinery official stated.
This is not the first time the refinery has made such a move. In December 2024, during the Yuletide celebrations, Dangote Refinery reduced the price of PMS by N70.50, from N970 to N899.50 per litre, in an effort to cushion the impact of high fuel costs.
Under the new pricing structure, the refinery’s retail partner, MRS Holdings, will sell petrol at different rates across regions. The price per litre will be N860 in Lagos, N870 in the South-West, N880 in the North, and N890 in the South-South and South-East.
