The Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation has called on Nigerians, particularly youths, to avoid drug abuse, cultism and violent behaviour during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, urging citizens to embrace peace, discipline and responsibility.
The foundation made the appeal in a sensitisation message issued ahead of the Ileya festivities, noting that festive periods in the country are often associated with increased substance abuse, reckless driving and other social vices.
It warned that such behaviour frequently leads to avoidable accidents, breakdown of law and order, youth violence, cult-related clashes and domestic conflicts, adding that communities must remain vigilant to prevent such occurrences.
The Global President of the foundation, Asiwaju Dapo Wahab, said the campaign is part of ongoing efforts to promote a safer and healthier society, especially during periods of heightened social activities like Eid celebrations.
He urged Nigerians to celebrate with moderation, stressing that joy and faith should not be mixed with drugs or substances capable of destroying lives and families.
“Celebrate with joy, faith and responsibility, not with drugs or substances that destroy lives, families and communities,” the foundation stated.
The foundation also extended Eid Mubarak greetings to Muslim faithful across the country, while reaffirming its commitment to continuous sensitisation against drug abuse and related social challenges.
