Former Force Public Relations Officer, Assistant Commissioner of Police Benjamin Hundeyin, has assumed office as the Commander of Police Mobile Force (PMF) Squadron 31, Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State, following a recent redeployment by the Nigeria Police Force.
Hundeyin’s appointment became public on Monday after photographs of him leading a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area, Jude Chukwunwike, resurfaced online. The visit marked his first public appearance since leaving his position as the Force spokesperson.
During the visit, Hundeyin met with the council chairman and other senior local government officials to strengthen collaboration between the Police Mobile Force Squadron 31 and the local government in addressing security challenges in the area.
Among those present were the Vice Chairman of the council, Patricia Ekwutozam Adolue, the Council Secretary, Prince Tony Ebube, the Supervisory Councillor for Health, Austin Unorchie, and other government officials.
A media aide to the Delta State Governor, Fetuga Robert-Anyawu, confirmed Hundeyin’s new role in a social media post, identifying him as the Commander of PMF Squadron 31, Ogwashi-Uku.
Hundeyin was appointed Force Public Relations Officer in September 2025 by the then Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun. He assumed the office as a Chief Superintendent of Police and was later promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police.
Before his appointment as Force spokesperson, he served as the Police Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Command and also worked at the Zone 2 Command Headquarters in Lagos.
In 2020, Hundeyin was part of Nigeria’s contingent to the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Darfur, Sudan.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Lagos State University and a master’s degree in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan.
His redeployment followed the recent leadership reshuffle in the Nigeria Police Force after the appointment of Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu.
