A student of the Nigerian Law School, Enugu Campus, has died after reportedly falling from the rooftop of the institution’s hostel at its Lagos Campus.
The Nigerian Law School disclosed this in a press statement issued on Monday, August 10, 2026, and signed by Aderonke O. Osho, Secretary to the Council and Director of Administration. The student was in Lagos for an externship programme and had been temporarily accommodated at the Lagos Campus hostel.
According to the statement, the incident occurred at about 4am on Friday, August 7, 2026, when the student fell from the rooftop of the hostel and subsequently succumbed to the incident.
“The Management of the Nigerian Law School regrets to confirm the tragic incident involving a student of the Nigerian Law School, Enugu Campus,” the statement said.
The institution said it was working closely with the appropriate authorities and the deceased student’s family to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The Law School expressed deep sadness over the death and extended its condolences to the family, colleagues and others affected by the incident.
The family has also appealed to the public and members of the media to respect its privacy and allow it to mourn the loss.
The institution urged everyone concerned to honour the family’s wishes and refrain from actions that could further compound their grief.
The Nigerian Law School reaffirmed its commitment to the safety, welfare and wellbeing of its students and staff.
