Ogun State lawmaker representing Ijebu North 2 State Constituency, Hon. Olusegun Odunuga Kaka, has once again demonstrated his commitment to grassroots developmen through the construction of a new health centre and two solar-powered boreholes across communities in his constituency.

The projects, which were officially commissioned during the ongoing Ago-Iwoye Day celebration, attracted commendations from the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, who praised the lawmaker for his people-oriented representation and developmental strides.

Governor Abiodun, represented at the event by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, described Hon. Kaka’s achievements as a reflection of the mutual cooperation between the executive and legislative arms of government in Ogun State.

He said the success of such projects was made possible through the constituency project fund initiative approved by his administration to enhance rural development.

“It is the commitment of this administration to ensure that every community benefits from good governance. The constituency project fund has enabled lawmakers like Hon. Kaka Odunuga to directly touch the lives of their people. His dedication and service are commendable,” Abiodun stated.

The newly commissioned projects include a fully equipped health centre named Late Pa Otunba Solomon Oduyemi Health Centre at Ago-Iwoye, and two solar-powered boreholes located at Young Ade Aiyegbami, Ward 9, and Ojude Olooto, Ward 8.

Abiodun’s representative commended the lawmaker for going beyond his approved projects to initiate other impactful developments, noting that such gestures were evidence of selfless leadership.

He urged residents of the benefiting communities to take ownership of the facilities and protect them from vandalism.

He also charged the local government authorities and relevant agencies to deploy medical personnel to the newly built health centre to ensure it operates effectively for the benefit of the people.

The Speaker further congratulated the Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Oba Abdul Razaq Adesina Adenuga, and the entire community on the successful hosting of this year’s Ago-Iwoye Day, which coincided with the commissioning ceremony.

In his remark, the Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Oba Adenuga, expressed appreciation to Governor Abiodun for his administration’s support for the constituency and acknowledged Hon. Kaka’s relentless efforts in promoting community development.

The monarch appealed for the conversion of the Ago-Iwoye Community Hospital into a General Hospital, saying that Ifelodun Constituency deserves a larger health facility to meet the growing population.

Responding, Hon. Kaka Odunuga expressed gratitude to Governor Abiodun, the Speaker, and his colleagues in the House for their support.

He promised to continue prioritizing the welfare of his constituents and echoed the monarch’s request for the hospital upgrade, assuring that he would work with relevant authorities to make it a reality.

He said, “These projects are just part of our ongoing efforts to make life better for our people. I believe representation should be about impact, not politics. I will keep doing my best to bring more development to our communities.”

Other projects previously facilitated by the lawmaker include road grading linking rural and urban areas, youth and women empowerment programmes, and educational support initiatives.

Dignitaries at the event included the member representing Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency, Hon. Joseph Adegbesan, traditional rulers, political leaders, and community stakeholders.
