Members of the Ogun State House of Assembly on Tuesday celebrated the lawmaker representing Ifo II State Constituency, Hon. Fola Salami, on the occasion of his 55th birthday, describing him as a committed legislator and a dependable advocate of good governance.

The lawmakers, who gathered at the Assembly complex in Abeokuta, commended Salami’s contributions to legislative business and the development of Ogun State, despite his decision to mark the milestone with a low-key celebration.

Speaking during the event, some of his colleagues praised the celebrant for his dedication to public service, wisdom, and ability to foster unity among members of the Assembly.

One of the lawmakers said, “Hon. Fola Salami has distinguished himself as a man of integrity, wisdom, and commitment to the welfare of his constituents. We celebrate his life and invaluable contributions to the House and the state.”

Another member added, “He remains a reliable bridge-builder whose legislative interventions have positively impacted many lives. We pray that God grants him good health, strength, and greater accomplishments in the years ahead.”

The lawmakers also offered prayers for the celebrant, wishing him renewed strength, divine guidance, and continued success in his service to the people.

Responding, Salami expressed gratitude to God for preserving his life and enabling him to witness another birthday.

He also appreciated Governor Dapo Abiodun, the leadership of the Assembly, his fellow lawmakers, and supporters for the goodwill shown to him.

“I give all glory to Almighty God for the gift of life and for His faithfulness over the years. I am deeply grateful to Governor Dapo Abiodun, the leadership of the House, my colleagues, and all those who have stood by me,” he said.

Salami noted that the spirit of friendship, cooperation, and mutual respect among members of the Assembly had continued to strengthen legislative activities in the state.

“The friendship and understanding we share in this Assembly remain a major factor behind our collective achievements. I will continue to dedicate myself to people-centred governance and quality representation for the good people of Ifo II State Constituency,” he added.
