The ruling party in Osun State, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has confirmed that its gubernatorial primary election will hold on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the Atlantis Multipurpose Hall, Ring Road, Osogbo, starting from 10 a.m.
The announcement follows the successful completion of congresses held on November 24 and 29 to elect ad-hoc and national delegates in the state.
The information was contained in a public notice signed by Hon. Theophilus Dakas Shan, National Organising Secretary, and released on December 1, 2025.
The notice emphasized that an Electoral Committee has been constituted to oversee the conduct of the primaries.
According to the statement, “The candidates cleared for the primaries are advised to behave in accordance with the provisions of our party’s constitution and the interest of law and order, as any act of indiscipline will be severely punished,” Shan said.
He further urged strategic stakeholders and the general public to cooperate with the electoral process to ensure a peaceful and credible primary exercise.
Party officials also highlighted that the primaries mark a crucial step in preparing for the general elections in Osun State.
“We expect all aspirants and delegates to maintain decorum and respect the guidelines set forth by the party. The integrity of the process must be upheld at all times,” Shan added.
The party assured that all necessary arrangements, including security and logistical measures, have been put in place to guarantee a smooth and transparent primary election.
