The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has deployed operatives from various states to Osun State ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
The personnel, who have arrived in the state for election duties, were briefed on the need to maintain professionalism and strictly adhere to the Rules of Engagement throughout the electoral process.
The NSCDC also charged the operatives to remain disciplined, respect the rights of citizens and maintain absolute non-partisanship while carrying out their responsibilities.
The deployment formed part of broader security preparations for the election, with NSCDC personnel joining sister security agencies in a show of force designed to demonstrate operational readiness and inter-agency cooperation.
The exercise also provided an opportunity for the participating security agencies to strengthen operational synergy and reaffirm their collective commitment to ensuring a peaceful electoral process.
During a media engagement, the Corps also outlined its operational posture for the election and called for responsible information sharing throughout the electoral period.
The engagement was aimed at strengthening public confidence and ensuring that citizens have access to credible information as security agencies carry out their duties before, during and after the poll.
The NSCDC stressed the importance of professionalism and neutrality, urging its personnel to discharge their duties without favour or prejudice towards any political party or candidate.
