Ogun State Governor and Chairman of the Southern Governors Forum, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has congratulated the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, on his re-election, describing it as a loud statement of the people’s confidence in his leadership.
Soludo, who contested under the banner of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), emerged victorious in the just-concluded Anambra governorship election held on Saturday.
According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the governor polled 422,664 out of the 584,054 valid votes cast, defeating his closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who garnered 99,445 votes.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secured 8,208 and 1,401 votes respectively.
In a congratulatory message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, Governor Abiodun said the outcome of the election clearly reflected the will of the people, who spoke in “clear, unmistakable terms” in reaffirming their belief in Soludo’s leadership and developmental strides.
Abiodun said, “With the results of Saturday’s election, the people of Anambra State spoke in clear, unmistakable terms, affirming their belief in the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo.”

He urged the re-elected governor to use his renewed mandate to further unite all political tendencies in the state and consolidate on the gains of democracy for the greater good of Anambra people.
“By uniting various political tendencies in the state, he will further consolidate on the dividends of democracy under his leadership in Anambra State,” Abiodun added.
The Ogun governor also commended Soludo for his collaborative approach to governance and his willingness to work with the President Bola Tinubu-led federal administration.
He expressed optimism that such partnership would bring more development to the South-East and strengthen regional cooperation under the Southern Governors Forum.
Abiodun urged Soludo to “keep the flag of democracy and good governance flying” as he begins another term of service to the people of Anambra State.
