Plateau State is set to deliver more than one million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has said. He credited the projection to the party’s strengthened structure and the decline of opposition influence in the state.

Yilwatda made the assurance on Tuesday during an APC stakeholders’ meeting for the Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam (PKK) Federal Constituency held at MNS Resort Hotel, Pankshin. He described the APC as stronger in Plateau than it was in 2023, noting that political actors who previously opposed the party, including Governor Caleb Mutfwang, commissioners, and local government chairmen, have now aligned with it.

“All the stumbling blocks we had in 2023 are no longer there. Those who opposed us then have joined us now,” he said.

Highlighting PKK as the party’s traditional stronghold, Yilwatda recalled that Tinubu secured some of his highest votes in the area during the last presidential election. He said the APC now operates as a united force across the state.

“Come 2027, I can assure you that President Tinubu will pull some of his highest votes here both in numbers and percentage. There is no ward, no polling unit in PKK that we will not win. Politics is a game of numbers, and our target is over one million votes,” Yilwatda declared.

He added that the party’s strength has grown with the entry of key political figures at both state and federal levels, and pledged that party unity would ensure constructive engagement on governance issues.

“Nobody is coming to take over this party. APC gives equal rights and privileges to everyone, whether you joined today or ten years ago,” he said.
