The Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Solomon Adeola, has condoled with the Muslim community in Ogun State over the death of the President and Chief Imam of Yewaland, Sheikh Sikirullah Babalola.
Adeola’s condolence message was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by his Media Adviser, High Chief Kayode Odunaro.
The lawmaker, who chairs the Senate Committee on Appropriations, described the late Islamic cleric as a revered father and spiritual leader whose demise was a huge loss to his family, followers, Yewaland and Ogun State at large.
He commiserated with the League of Imams and Alfas, the Muslim Ummah and all Islamic faithful across the state over what he called a painful loss.
According to the senator, Sheikh Babalola devoted his life to the service of الإسلام and humanity, noting that his contributions to peace building, unity and the propagation of Islam remained commendable.
“Apart from his dedication to the cause of Islam, the late Sheikh Babalola played significant roles in promoting peace and unity within the Muslim community in Yewaland and beyond,” the statement quoted Adeola as saying.
The senator prayed that Almighty Allah forgives the shortcomings of the deceased cleric and grant him Aljanah Firdaus.
He also prayed for strength and fortitude for the immediate family and the Muslim Ummah to bear the irreparable loss.
