The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, has urged residents of the state, particularly Muslim faithful, to celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir festival with caution and vigilance.

The advice was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Director of Information and Public Relations of the Corps, Assistant Commander of Corps Adegunwa Adegbuyi, on behalf of the State Commander, Dr Soji Ganzallo.

Ganzallo said the Eid-el-Kabir celebration usually attracts large gatherings across the state, warning residents to remain alert in crowded areas as some individuals may have criminal intentions.

He said, “People should be alert, observant and careful in crowded areas as some individuals in the crowd have ulterior motives.”

The commander also advised residents travelling during the festive period to ensure their homes were properly secured before embarking on any journey.

He added that neighbours often serve as first responders during emergencies, urging residents to maintain peaceful relationships within their communities.

Ganzallo further cautioned motorists against reckless driving, late-night journeys, overloading and overspeeding, stressing the need for drivers to ensure their vehicles were roadworthy before travelling.

According to him, motorists should remain conscious of other road users while driving on highways during the festive season.

He assured residents that operatives of the Corps had been deployed to strategic locations and identified black spots across the state to guarantee a hitch-free celebration.

“Both uniformed and plain-clothes operatives are on strict instruction to ensure hitch-free celebration,” he added.

Ganzallo also felicitated officers and men of the Corps as well as Muslim faithful, praying for peace, joy and fulfilment during the celebration.
