So-Safe Corps arrests 22-year-old for stealing burglar proof in Ogun

The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, has arrested a 22-year-old man identified as Oladeji Abiodun for allegedly stealing an iron burglar proof in Owode-Ota, Ogun State.

The arrest was confirmed in a statement issued by the Commander of the Corps, Dr. Soji Ganzallo, and made available to journalists by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander of Corps, Adegunwa Adegbuyi.

According to the statement, the suspect was apprehended on Monday, October 13, 2025, around 6:00 a.m. during a routine patrol along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway by the Area Commander, ACC Sanni David, and his team from the Coker-Ibogun Area Command.

Ganzallo explained that the suspect, an indigene of Oyo State who resides in Owode-Ota, was found with the iron burglar proof at Onihale Bus Stop, opposite T-Money Fueling Station, in circumstances that aroused suspicion.

“During preliminary interrogation, the suspect confessed to have stolen the item from a building located at Imise, Owode-Ota, Ogun State,” the statement quoted Ganzallo as saying.

The Commander further noted that the arrest validates an intelligence report indicating that certain crimes are often committed in communities around 5:00 a.m., when most night guards have retired from duty.

“In response to such intelligence, I directed Zonal and Area Commanders to intensify early morning patrols in strategic locations along major highways to prevent such criminal acts,” Ganzallo added.

He commended the Intelligence and Investigation Team for their swift action and urged members of the public to continue supporting the Corps with useful information that could aid in curbing crime across the state.

Ganzallo also confirmed that the suspect and the recovered exhibit have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Sango Division, for further investigation and possible prosecution.
