The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, on Monday decorated its newly appointed Deputy State Commander and two Deputy Corps Commanders in recognition of their meritorious service and commitment to the mission of the Corps.

The decoration ceremony, held at the Corps’ State Headquarters, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, was conducted under the authority of the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi, alongside the State Commander of the Corps, Dr. Soji Ganzallo.

The newly decorated officers include Deputy State Commander, DCC Moruf Kolawole Yusuf; Deputy Commander, Operations, DCC Adedamola Adesina AbdulAkeem; and Deputy Commander, Intelligence and Investigations, DCC Odukoya Oluyemi Ijaoba.

In his welcome remarks, the State Commander, Dr. Ganzallo, charged the officers to see the promotion as a call to greater responsibility.

According to him, “your previous achievements and commitment in the Corps speak for you. This elevation is not achieved by chance but by hard work. To whom much is given, much is expected.”

He appreciated the state government for its continuous support, particularly in the provision of equipment and logistics that aid the operations of the Corps.

Delivering a goodwill message on behalf of the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Akinlesi said the officers must justify the confidence reposed in them.

He stated, “you are now entrusted with greater authority and in equal measure, greater accountability will be required from you.”

“You are expected to bring to bear your wealth of experience, leadership acumen and professionalism in discharging your duties for the progress of the Corps and the security of our dear state.”

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, AIG Olusola Subair (Rtd.), represented by Mr. Biyi Odubote, also commended the So-Safe Corps for its role in safeguarding Ogun State.

He noted, “promotion is a pyramid, as you go higher the space becomes narrow. Even when every officer is performing, not all will be promoted because of the constraint of space. This is why you must see this elevation as both a privilege and a challenge to do more.”

The highlight of the ceremony was the official decoration and presentation of appointment letters to the three senior officers, performed by the Hon. Commissioner’s representative.

Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, Deputy State Commander Yusuf expressed appreciation to the State Commander for the trust and recommendation that facilitated their elevation.

He assured that they would “not relent in ensuring that the Corps maintains its expected standard and continues to contribute meaningfully to security in Ogun State.”

At the event, the State Commander also decorated two Assistant Corps Commanders, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi, as Director of Information and Public Relations, and ACC Nurudeen Muibi, as Deputy Director, Intelligence and Investigation.
