President Bola Tinubu on Friday hosted his Gabonese counterpart, President Brice Oligui Nguema, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, as both leaders moved to strengthen diplomatic ties and expand economic cooperation between Nigeria and Gabon.
The high-level closed-door meeting focused on promoting South-South collaboration, cross-border investments, and regional stability.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, President Nguema described the talks as fruitful and reaffirmed Gabon’s commitment to building stronger relations with Nigeria.
He noted that Gabon considers Nigeria a strategic partner in achieving its development goals, especially in the areas of oil, minerals, and infrastructure.
“Things are going very well in Gabon right now, and as I told His Excellency, President Tinubu, we believe in South-South cooperation,” Nguema said.
“It will be a good thing for Nigerian companies to come to Gabon and invest in our oil and mineral sectors. Gabon is open for business, and we have the resources to attract serious investors,” he added.
Nguema also urged Nigeria’s private sector to take advantage of Gabon’s rich natural resources and investor-friendly environment.
