Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has celebrated the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, Okukenu IV, on his 20th coronation anniversary, describing the occasion as a significant milestone for the Egba people and the entire state.
Oba Gbadebo ascended the throne on November 19, 2005.
In his goodwill message, Abiodun said the monarch’s two decades on the throne had brought sustained progress, unity and dignity to Egbaland.
He added that the royal father had consistently demonstrated leadership that strengthens both cultural heritage and modern governance.
“I join the government and good people of Ogun State in congratulating His Royal Majesty, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo (Okukenu IV), the Alake of Egbaland, on the momentous occasion of his 20th anniversary on the throne,” the Governor said.
He reflected on the monarch’s contributions since ascending the throne, noting that Oba Gbadebo had shown an unwavering commitment to peace, stability and community development.
“Since his coronation as the 10th Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland on November 19, 2005, Kabiyesi has continued to exemplify wisdom, dignity and an unwavering commitment to the peace, unity and development of Egbaland and Ogun State at large.
“His reign has been marked by remarkable strides in cultural preservation, community advancement and the promotion of harmony among all people,” Abiodun said.
The Governor praised the monarch’s support for government programmes, describing his role in communal harmony as invaluable.
“Kabiyesi’s reign has been characterized by grace, compassion and an unrelenting pursuit of the welfare of his people. His role in fostering communal harmony and supporting our government’s development agenda remains invaluable,” he added.
Abiodun prayed for God’s continued guidance and blessings for the Alake, wishing him “sound health, long life and greater wisdom to continue his noble service to Egbaland, Ogun State and Nigeria.”
He wished the monarch a memorable celebration as Egbaland marks the 20th anniversary of his reign.
