An Inspector of the Nigeria Police Force, identified as Haruna Mohammed, was found dead inside a hotel room in Ogun State under mysterious circumstances, while a woman who accompanied him to the hotel is currently at large.

The incident occurred at Super G Royal Hotel, located at 11 Anthony Uzum Estate, Oyeyemi Akute, in the early hours of Saturday, February 15, 2025. According to reports, Mohammed had checked into the hotel around 1:00 am with an unidentified woman. However, by morning, the woman had disappeared, leaving behind the lifeless body of the officer.

A police memo detailing the case revealed that the hotel manager, Deborah Adejobi, noticed that their room was unlocked at about 8:52 am. Out of curiosity, she opened the door and discovered Mohammed’s lifeless body, prompting the hotel owner, Abiodun Olagunju, to alert the police.

Further investigation showed that at around 6:00 am, the unidentified woman had visited the hotel reception to request a bottle of table water before vanishing.

Describing the circumstances surrounding the officer’s death, the police stated that it was “sudden and unnatural.” His body has since been moved to Life Channel Mortuary in Olambe for an autopsy.

Police detectives from Ajuwon Division visited the scene, took photographs, and retrieved the officer’s police camouflage uniform, which had his rank and name tag inside his bag. The hotel manager has been taken into custody for questioning, while efforts are ongoing to locate the missing woman.

The police memo regarding the case reads in part:
“At about 11:30 hours, one Abiodun Olagunju, the owner of Super G Royal Hotel, reported that at about 01:02 hours, one Haruna Mohammed and a lady, whose name and address are unknown, checked into the hotel. At about 06:00 hours, the lady was seen at the reception requesting table water. Later, at about 08:52 hours, the hotel manager discovered that the room door was not locked, and upon opening it, she found the lifeless body of the officer.”

The police assured that investigations are ongoing and that further updates will be communicated as more details emerge.
