The Ogun State Government has reaffirmed its determination to complete all ongoing road projects across the state, assuring residents that the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun will not take their yearnings for granted.

The government made this known in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Strategy, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, who maintained that the present administration remains committed to spreading development evenly across the three senatorial districts and twenty local government areas of the state.

Akinmade noted that many of the roads inherited by the Abiodun-led government were in deplorable condition, adding that the administration has intervened in several key routes to ease the hardship of motorists and improve economic activities.

He explained that commuters who ply the Sagamu–Abeokuta Interchange now spend less than half an hour compared to the long hours of gridlock they endured before 2019. He also mentioned the Atan–Lusada–Agbara Road and the Ijebu Ode–Mojoda–Epe Road as examples of projects that have transformed transportation within the state.

According to him, even when the Federal Government failed to address the poor state of federal roads within the Sango–Ota axis, Governor Abiodun undertook palliative works to reduce the burden of road users.

The government also released a detailed list of completed, commissioned, and ongoing projects across the three senatorial districts, saying it reflects the administration’s commitment to inclusive infrastructure development.

In Ogun Central Senatorial District, Akinmade said the administration has completed and commissioned several strategic roads, including the Idi–Aba–Elite–One Lantoro Road (2km), the Flyover Bridge at Kuto (0.576km), and the 6.5km Lafenwa–Rounder–Ayetoro Road (Phase 1). Others include the 7.5km Obantoko Road, the 5.7km Somorin–Kemta–Idi Aba Road, and the 42km Abeokuta–Sagamu Expressway.

In Ogun East, completed projects include the Awujale Road (3km), Ijebu Ode–Epe/Sagamu Bridge Interchange Flyover, Molipa/Fusigboye/Ayegun/Ofosa Road (3.1km), and the 27km Erunwon–Idowa–Awa–Ibefun–Itokin Road. Akinmade added that major rehabilitation works were also done on roads within Odogbolu, Ijebu North, Ijebu East, and Ogun Waterside Local Government Areas.

For Ogun West, the statement listed projects such as the 7.5km Singer–Toll Gate Road at the Lagos–Ogun boundary, the Igbesa–Ehila Road (4.5km), and the Ilaro–Iwoye Road (13km). Others include the Ilaro–Koko–Alari Road (3.8km) and the Owode Yewa–Owode Junction Road (6km), among several others.

Akinmade stressed that the government’s target is to ensure that every part of the state benefits from the administration’s infrastructural renewal drive.

He said, “The Dapo Abiodun administration will not abandon any ongoing project. The governor is resolute in his mission to deliver modern and durable infrastructure that will support commerce, agriculture, and industrial development across all regions of the state.”

According to him, these projects represent the government’s vision of improving mobility, attracting investment, and promoting economic growth through strategic infrastructure development.
